First Club Meeting of the 2009-10 Year

Our first meeting of this school year has been scheduled for next Wednesday, 8 September from 3:30PM until 5:00 PM in SUB 4-24

If you are passionate about social justice, accessibility to post-secondary education, and/or the environment, the NDP is the party for you! The U of A Campus NDP is a group of committed students who believe in these and other progressive principles, and who realize that political action is necessary to affect large-scale change in our province, our country, and around the world.

This will be the first meeting of the U of A Campus NDP for the new school year. Membership in the student group does not cost money, and no previous political knowledge or experience is necessary. Just show up, and we will discuss where the group is headed over the next two semesters.

Also, please stop by our table at Clubs Fair in the Butterdome on Monday or Tuesday, say "hello", and grab some free stuff!

Please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions or items you would like discussed at the meeting.

Take a moment...

Alright, in the midst of a campaign, even the most die-hard of us need a break, a moment to relax, and an escape from the dreaded message box. Although, I must say, this photo from the rally4change: Edmonton is pretty spectacular!

So, for those of you searching for a break, here are a few things coming up on the more "social" calendar of the Campus Club:

1) Poll Cats Party - Yes, everyone can come to this, whether you are working a campaign or not. We will be meeting on Friday, October 3rd at Rose bowl pizza to watch the Oilers take on the Flames in Calgary. Yes, that's right folks - the "other" battle of Alberta is on. Check out the Facebook event for more information.

2) Monthly Social - This had to be postponed by a week due to the last week of the election being pretty important in the eyes of most members. Our sojourn to Dewey's will occur on October 15th, so come enjoy a beverage, some post-campaign talk, and to recuperate from the E-day celebrations from the night before. Again, you can check out the Facebook Event for more information.

Hope to see you all on the 3rd and the 15th - and, in the words of Jack Layton: "Don't let them tell you it can't be done"
